From
1998 Nirmana has been providing four crèches
and four schools for the children of construction
workers at construction sites and residential
areas of construction workers. In 2002 Nirmana
collaborated with ILO-UNDP study on construction
sector which envisaged a pilot demonstration
initiative in selected, low-income localities
in Delhi
During 2003-2004 Nirmana developed special training
programme on HIV-AIDS for construction workers
which can be easily extended particularly for
the workers of other unorganized sector worker
and migrant workers. Nirmana has been collaborating
with Delhi State AIDS Control Society (DSACS)
programme since 1998. Nirmana set up a model
Cooperative Society of tribal girls of Jharkhand
and surrounding areas working in Delhi as domestic
workers so as to replace the placement agencies
exploiting poor and ignorant migrant girls.
